Hello,

I am Brazilian and my partner is British. We currently live in Brazil, and we are planning to live in Spain. She doesn't need a visa to enter or work in Spain, as I understand it. But I believe I need a visa to have residence in the country, and work there.

We plan to get married in Europe, either in UK or Spain, but we are not sure about where yet. We plan to move to Europe as soon as possible, so we are looking for the fastest way to do that. We already live together in Brazil, but as same-sex marriage is not legal here, we can't get married.

I would like to take advice of, in this situation, what would be the best to do?

I have also heard that I need a special visa to get married in UK. What other documents do I need to get married there? Is it a difficult visa to get? I have read there is also a settlement visa, but I don't need to apply for this one, since I am going to live in Spain, correct?

And if we get married in UK, will Spain recognize it? Do I have to apply for another visa to live in Spain or can I just work things out from there?
