    Can you advice? I am a US citizen married to my wife who is a student in UK. We are awaiting the processing of I-130 in the US for her to come over. In the mean time we are expecting our baby in a couple of months. I would like to go to england for like 4 to 6 months to be with her and the baby. Any legal issues I need to know about?

    Also, I would like to work while in UK for about 4 months. How can I get a work permit?
    OUr intention is to finally move to the states when the petition is approved.

    Can I just clarify are you living in the UK at present? How long have you been married? Where did you get married? Once I know the answers to these I'll see if there is any advice for you

    dude, move to the UK to be with your baby. dont waist your time in getting her to the states. if money and time are no object... then yes move to the states. if money and time are an issue, it would be much much easier for you to move to the uk. it takes months and months for the visa to go through in the states. if you are american and have a baby in the uk, it would much easier to come uk. i can help you if you would like. i am no expert but, i am american living in the uk with my english husband. i have been here a year. nothing is straight forward with either.
