I made this topic, so all the people applying for certificate of approval of marriage can compare and share information about the certificate of approval of marriage waiting times. So please if you are applying, or have received your COA let us know how long did it take, or how long have youve been waiting.

I have been waiting for 8 weeks, and continously told its awaiting consideration.

    Hi,

I've just posted an application for my fiance. She is Australian, and I am Hungarian. I'm hoping that it can be done in less than 4 weeks. I hope this is the case as the Home office says "70% of cases the application takes less than 4 weeks". Hoping anyone has some experience getting a quick reply.

Certificate of approval in only 4 weeks!!

Hi Guys, I have done a lot of research regarding COA. The best way is to approach Home office directly. I am a South African on a Working holiday maker visa. I met my German fiance last year in June here in London. I applied on 8 March 2006 for the COA. 3 days later I received a letter from the Home office that they have received my application and will past it on to a case worker. I prayed and sweated for exactly 4 weeks when on the 6th of June 2006 the postman knocked on my door with my COA. We are registering our marriage know and will be married in August. Good Luck to you all applying. Let me know if you have any questions, I have done a lot of research.

    Hi
Me and my fiance posted ore coa on the 21st March, and they say that 90% are dealt with within 3 months, so i am hoping that our solicitor will ring us within the next two weeks with some good news. The solictor told us he got a letter a couple days after we posted it, to say that they received it. So fingers crossed.
Just one question what do i do if i have not received an answer within the next 2 weeks as then the 3 months would of finished?

Sar4ism, what nationalities are you, and what kind of visa are you both on? IF there was a problem with your application or if the Home office needed any further details they should have notified you by now. Let me know how you get along.

Hi Ray Thanks for your reply. I am British and my fiance is from iran and has lived in uk now for 4 years, he has an ind and has to report to a police station every month. The home office told me that we have a good chance because he has had his ind for over 18 months, he has it for 4 years.
