We've just applied for a eea family permit and we gave all the documents they asked for, but they said that it would take a few days and they would check documents etc.

I wanted to know if they were going to ring my employer or not because i should tell my employer if that's the case and i should make sure they ask to speak to the right people when they ring. I gave payslips, letter from employer, p60 tax document etc already.

Also, how long is an eea family permit valid for? can we re-enter UK as many times as we wish?

Thank you for this. Just a last question: once we have the family permit and we are in the UK, do we need to re-apply for a family permit every time we go abroad and come back? e.g. if we go away for a short week end or holiday.. can we re-enter or do we need a residence card?
