Myself - a British National - and my Chinese partner are looking into applying for a fiance visa for him to follow me to Britain. However, niether of us are rich (to say the least) and we're concerned that our appliation could be rejected on the grounds of insufficient finace to support us both once there.

Does anybody know the exact amount of savings/earnings that we would have to have for our application to be successful? I've heard that a student Visa requires around 300,000 RMB (around 21,000 pounds) and that a tourist visa requires 80,000 RMB (5,500 pounds), but i don't know any details regarding fiance(e) or spouse visas.

If anybody has any knowledge regarding this issue, or has any idea here I may be able to find out this information, it'd be much appreciated. What we don't want to do is go through the whole costly prossess and then have the appliaction rejected all simply because we hadn't saved enough money.

    Thanks.
