Hi, I´m looking for some information on Nerja from people that live there. I currently live near Alicante but my partner and I are thinking about moving to Nerja to run a bar together. I´d like to know whether it is a friendly place to live and whether it is somewhere that we can run a succesful bar?

Nerja has the highest number of bars + restaurants per head of population than anywhere else in Spain! For every 10 bars that open each season, well over half fail to make it through to October!

There is a large number of Brit bars in the town - especially in the Burriana beach area where competition is horrendous. Winter takings are VERY poor.

think very carefully before committing yourselves - and more importantly your money - to a venture like this.
