    Hello
    I live in Canada with my husband. We are planning on moving to the UK in late October...hopefully. I know it will be easier for me b/c I am already a citizen, I got my passport on my mothers side. However, my husband currently has no status in Canada, he carries a Syrian passport. I was wondering what steps he needs to take to be able to work in the UK by the time mentioned above. Also for me I heard somewhere that I need a nation Insurance card in order to work, can I get one of these in Canada or to I have to actually be in Britain first?

    no he's currently in the process of becoming a resident of Canada, he has first stage approval which means he works here legally, so yes he is legal no he's not here as a visitor

    You would have to apply with form VAF 2 for your husband.
    I assume that he has some letters from Canadian Immigration confirming that he is some kind of resident there.
    As you do not have a job nor accommodation in the UK you would need to show that you wont become "burden"
    Your would need to show "healthy" bank balance.There is no rule how much that should be.
    I think about £10-£20K should be enough.

    In order to work you would need NI and bank account.Both can be obtained only when in the UK.
