    Hi i'm livvy.
I have recently come back to England from working in Italy after 6 months. While being there i fell in love with someone fron Albania, he is currently still working in Italy, and is hopefully moving to England to move in with me. He gained his permit to stay in 2003, and is currently vailed for another year and a half. He has been offered by my bother-in-law to work in his building trade and also has somewhere to live. With this status how hard is it going to be to get a visa, i really want to keep clear of getting married just so we can be together.

    Has anyone got any advice??

    Hi.

    What info do you want?????

He has held a 'permit to stay' since 2003, he is currently working. but has no stated trade, does a bit of everything really. One of the bad thing is he has no bank account and no savings. When i recently went on line to see what documents were needed to clame the 'permit to stay' they were simular to a settlement visa requirments!!!!

Bank account details and a required amount of money in that account also were stated.

Please help if you know anything........................ many thanks

    hi livvy
somehow i didnt receive any message notification of your reply, sorry.
it all depend on whats your nationality and your status in england.

to be honest the best way he can stay here if you guys get married, other wise it's gonna be really hard. easiest way is to take the work permit path . that would be issued for a period of 5 years(in the mean time you can see how the relationship is going).
i dont see why he doesnt have a bank account? try avoid high street banks and go online instead.

also you say that he have familly permit????

    Thanks for the reply.....

    I'm from england, i'm british!!!!

I have just come back from living and working in Italy after six months, so mean while working in a pub - i am currently applying to join the Ministry of defence - police that is!. But this status does not mean that its 100% sure that i will get into the police - if i get in, the income per year will be a great benifit for the status i hold for him to move to England. So what permit do you think is needed. If we ended up getting married would it be better to do it before he applys for a visa. The last thing that may need to be done is moving to his country - but there is a better life here more jobs and so on....

I need to make sure we take the right path!!!! if he moves here his permit to stay gets distroyed and he can not reture to italy to work - so to be honest he is risking more than i am - his visa for italy is his life.
What can you advise me to do???

Thanks very much for your time :D

as i said the best thing to do is to get married here ,Italy or his home country.then he would automatically come to the UK in a spouse visa.
another alternative if you find him an employer who is willing to take him in (so he can get his work permit).

if you gonna work in the MoD, some of the jobs(involving intelligence ie mi5 ,GCHQ...) do not allow you to have an overseas partner(vetting purposes) thus you will not be accepted for the job.

final alternative (which i prefer)is that he comes to the uk as a visitor for a couple of months , once you are together here see how things are going then make a decision

He does have a job to come to and also somewhere to live - that is all ready for him......

So if i got married, i coulf go to Italy and do it. will i need a witness and documents if so - which ones?
and how much does it cost?

At least this has given me a few things to think about, thank you for your time
