hi I wonder if you could help me, my position is currently: * I'm an English man engaged and living with my female Australian Fiance; * My fiance is on a working holiday which expires in December, but is currently working fulltime for a primary school which is closing in June next year (at the latest); and what we want is: * For my Fiance to stay in the UK and be able to work until next June. * get married in Italy in July * Move to Australia after that permanently. Any assistance especially on getting my Fiance to stay for an extra 6 month would be great. Thanks in advance. Chris
In my opinion this as much hassle as you can ask for. She can not stay unless you apply for a fiance visa for e.g.(you have 6 months to get it done) And you are not gonna get married In the UK. If you manage to go to Italy and do it there, she wont be able to go back to UK with you. You would have to apply for OZ visa on your own while she is in the OZ. Just one scenario.I just cant see it.
Chris, Have you looked into your fiancee switching from her WHV to a Work Permit? There are some categories of employment which this would be allowed, and I imagine school teacher might be one of them. Her employer applies on her behalf, and especially since the school is closing in June 07 then there would be a time limit, they are only asking the Home Office for a 6 month Work Permit really. Now, most people would need to go back to Oz to get clearance to enter on a Work Permit but those currently in the UK on a WHV wouldn't need that clearance. So, try that avenue. She might be able to stay and work until June 2007. Then you can get hitched in Italy and move to Australia. Bear in mind your route for entering Oz... you may need to apply for your entry visa from the Australian embassy in London in between the marriage taking place and the arrival into Oz, so look into that one carefully. Hope this helps, and sorry it is so late!!!
