Hi I hope someone has advice....

I am a Czech citizen - but as part of the new accession states I'm frustrated beacuse we're only half way there...

Recently I started doing work with a multinational that requires frequent business travel throughout established Shengen states. I understand however that I can only spend 90 days / per 6 months in the EU proper, after that I need to request residency...

Does anyone know how to interpret this?

Eg. I spent 8 weeks in Germany on training, 3 weeks in France on seminars, now I'll be meeting with suppliers maybe 3 days a week in assorted countries. In addition to this, my family spent almost 4 weeks on holidays in Spain and Austria this year....

Does this mean I need to apply for residency in some Shengen country?
My home and family is in Prague.

My main point of entry is Germany. I worry that one of these days I'll be confronted at the border and refused entry because of this.

    Is this possible?
Is there any way I can prepare myself for this before it causes a capastrophe to my career?

    Many thanks,
    BC

    where are you now?
technically if you're travelling for business only it shouldnt count towards the 90 days thing.double check with the immigration office in the country your company is based.

as to be refused entry, that would almost impossible if you have all the right paper work .

it all depend where you are now and where is the company you 're workin for

    More info...

    Hi tndfr...

thanks for taking the time to reply.

    Where am I right now?

Well, I am based (living) in Prague along with my wife and 2 kids. Much of the week I am travelling however. Current business partners are based in Germany and Italy so my travel is split approx 80% and 20% - although this should vary with time as we forge new contacts (we hope).

The company I work for is a new startup based in Prague (founded by myself and 2 colleagues neither of which considered any possible immigration issues).

In any case, the company is based here in the Czech Rep. so there is no issue with local immigration offices.

The question of having the right paperwork when travelling is more difficult because it's unclear what type of paperwork could possibly be required. At present the paperwork I carry is my Czech passport; my Czech resident ID and the Czech business registration (if anyone should be interested in this).

Any more insight will be much appreciated.

as a new EU member you are allowed to travel all over EU member countries without any restriction . working is another matter...

i dont see any problems for you going to other EU countries regulary.i am guessing that the 90 days rule is applied when you stay in the same country more than 90 days.
also i dont see why are you worried so much, the only thing i can think about is that the new accession states are stil not allowed to work in some western europe countries(France, Germany ...etc).

for the paper work at the immigration , take every thing you can such as company taxes and a proof that you have contractual meeting with the people that live in the country you are going to.
