    Hi there,

I don't know where to live in London. One of my friend used to live in Camden town and it seemed to be great but i find nothing there. What about Nothing Hill ?

Where would you live if you had 3 months to spend in London ?
I would like to work (probably in the center) and to ... party !

    Many thanks

EDIT : my max rent for a flatshare is £100 and I would like to have a single room...

£100 a week ? You will be probably need to look for zone 2 or 3. Even Ealing is expensive. Maybe Tooting... well anyway you have a lot of other areas, north of Camden, South of the river...

Kilburn is not the worse. Lewisham, Peckham and some areas of Brixton well known for its drug dealers. Finsbury also in the north... but anyway, it depends even where you live in those areas. In London one street may be really nice but 2 streets later it starts being dodgy...

ok so the best way to do must be to seek my flatshare once in london instead of browsing websites

if someone has more names of places to avoid i'm interested !

    Hey,

I just arrived in London, looking for accommodation! I found a lot of sites, but which ones are the best to find a room or a small studio? Thanks for your help! :)

The Guide to London provides complete information for moving to the UK, including a section on Finding Accommodation & Renting in London.

    We recommend
Right Move (the most popular website for properties)
    Loot (famous classifieds paper)
    Find a Property
    Prime Location
    Find a Property
    London Renting
    City Lets
    Gumtree
    Vivastreet
    Craigslist London
    and, of course, EasyExpat's classifieds.

You can also get a feel for the city and chat with other expats with expat blogs in the UK.

Anyone else have tips/advice? Best of luck

    Hi milki,

I think If you are interested in having a home in the lush green environment and beautiful landscapes then you should definitely select a Notting hill or you should get in touch with some estate agents that provide you proper information about rentals as well as properties for sale in every region.

    Hi Milki,

I am pretty familiar with the areas such as Kilburn, North of Hyde Park and SW1 where I spend my most of the time.

As you would like a moderately priced property you should conduct a property search through real estate agents.

Young and trendy areas include Shoreditch, Hoxton, Islington and Wapping. You have to be mega-rich to live in Mayfair

It's not only Mayfair: South Ken, Chelsea and Knightsbridge are also in another league ;-)
In our article for accommodation we give a flavour of the different areas in London where to live.

You are currently in India aren't you?
Therefore the first worry would be to move to the UK/London, not really talking about a specific location at the beginning. In that area you can book a hostel for a few days/weeks in order to start your search. Check with our partner website for hostels and budget accommodation in London.

    Hi Cyrilexpat ,

Thanks for your reply. Actually I want to move as soon as possible and i don't want to waste money for hotels. That's why i am asking you, is their any service provider or website through which i got the detail of rooms for rent.
