Could anyone tell me how long the spouse visa application takes to process....I heard you can get an answer the same day (it's a higher cost - £500 or something). Thanks

I can't believe for a second that it's possible to pay more for a faster decision. And it's impossible to answer your question because you haven't given any details about your circumstances. Sorry.

With the UK settlement visa, it takes 1 calendar month. This is statutory. There are no faster options.

It really depends where you apply to and whether or not you send your application through the post. The three consulates in the USA (New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago) have a 10 working day processing policy. If you go in for an interview, it could take them less than 24 hours! They also advise you to send in your application 14 days before your scheduled date of travel. These figures are smattered about the britain usa website as well as the visa4uk website. :)

I'm sorry you got so many negative responses.

Of course it is possible to get a same-day application processed. You can walk into Croydon (or Glasgow, or Birmingham, or Liverpool) with your £500 payment and have your answer (and your visa in your passport) within an hour.

But, this depends on SO MANY things! You really do need to give far more info, such as where you & spouse are, what nationalities you both are, what visa specifically you're applying for etc.

But if it is a straightforward application and you meet all requirements, then yes, you can get it fast-tracked.

The problem with the fast track service is that it needs to be booked well in advance. The normal service can take as long as six months (they have over taken more than a month for one person i know and over three months for another person)....so if you can book this fast track service.. do it nowwwwwwwwww
