Ok, sent in my Irish passport application today but have a few questions about working in UK.

1. Do I have to register under WRS? - I think not but am not sure.

2. Can I work anywhere else in EU under Irish passport or just Ireland & UK?

3. Do I need to get a letter from IND to prove to employers I am allowed to work or is Irish passport enough?

4. Can I open bank account in UK with Irish passport?

5. Can I get drivers license in UK with Irish passport?

6. Can I start a company in UK with Irish passport?

7. Can I use medical services (NHS) in UK under Irish passport?

8. My wife & child will be applying for Family Permit - is this just a stamp in their passports or is it a letter or something else?

9. Can we travel in/out of Uk on family permit or is it a one time entry?

10. Can my wife and child use medical services (NHS) in UK under family permit or do we need private cover?


As you can probably tell we're a bit nervous about moving to UK so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm still trying to get my head around all the rules so if I could ask one more question.

How long after arriving in UK can/should my wife & child apply for residency?

Can they do it straight away or should they wait until the famly permit runs out after six months?
