I am an US citizen who plans on marrying a UK citizen. I have already posted a couple times about this, but I think I have the most crucial questions in perspective.

    - When I apply for my visa to come to the UK to get married. How long does the entire process take (approximatley), and is it advised to seek a lawyer to help with the process?

    - About the 180 day rule. If in the past I was given leave to remain/enter for 6 months, and initially was to stay for only 2 but stayed 5. Does that matter on the appiclation, or is it no problem seeing as how I had 180 days to stay anyway? I talked to immigration and they seemed to have no problem with this. I was just wondoring from anyones personal experience if this has caused any trouble?

    Thanks!

No need for the lawyer and your immigration history is nothing to worry about, you have not broken any rules. I dont know how long it takes.

    Good luck.
