    General question here:
I have read a lot of cases in here where people have been overstaying beyond the legal limits...
I am wondering, this seems risky no?
Is it a case of if you don`t claim benefits etc. that it is not a problem for the gov there?

It is all very intruiging i think

    Andréàe :?: :?: :D

Hi there! regarding the overstayed visa what could be the consequences if the expiration took place during the process of visa extension?

How about if the applicant who hasn't claimed benefit decide to return on his own expenses? Does this geopardize his travel?

    Thank you

Nothing. While visa has been considered and if you applied in time you are not an overstayer.

If you overstayed you have broken the law.You could be barred from entering country again.

well unfortunately for me i hav broken the law but heres my situation...

i came here from africa 9 yrs ago (forced by my parents) to study which i did but did not complete due to financial strain. As a natural human being i had to survive on my own with no dependancies so i got a job and worked my way. In between this 9 yrs i hav a girlfriend and a daughter who is 18 months who i hav been living with and practically we are an everyday family

No here is where i stand.

    1. I have a family
    2. I work on in the i.t field with demanding skills. Practically i have a brilliant job and my question in regards to this one is can my circumstances be considered on this grounds. I didnt graduate but if i did i would be working in the same field i am on now and i do know that skilled visas are due to proof of skills.
    3. I would like to be legal but no one can help. The advice i have got is to go back and marry her then apply to come back. I know this works but 1 yr away from home (i actually regard this as my home now) without a job isnt the best of plans. One lawyer made me aware of a certain loophole in the immigration process. BAsically if you are illegal and manage to get married and stay with your partner for a 2 yr period you can apply for stay no matter if you overstayed or illegal previously. I dont want to get married for the wrong reasons but if i have to do what i have to do i will do what i can

I already know your answer to this question so i would like to ask, how long can u stay in the u.k and then be granted naturalisation....used to be 14yrs i think and does this still apply.

any help will be grand if no i shall cool relax.....i can go to bournemouth if i need a holiday....lol

Yes, as I am aware.10 years legally and 14 ilegally. You would get a permanent residence status thought. After that my guess is you would have to wait for some time till you qualify to become UK citizen.

my friend was told that she's quite in danger giving birth a week before her mother's visa expires as a tourist so her mom decided to stay for another week or 2 just until she gives birth to make sure everything's fine, then she will go back home...considering that she will be overstaying beyond the allowed time that she can stay in UK,what are the consequences once she goes to the airport to go back to her country?will she be deported, detained, penalized?

she is willing to risk not being granted another entry to UK in the future as long as she's with her daughter on the day that she gives birth...what's worrying them is the exit point in UK when she goes home afterwards? will she be detained or deported if she's already in the airport and is ready to go back to her country?
