    Hi,

I'm a UK citizen with full British passport. My girlfriend is a US citizen based in the UK with limited leave to remain. Her leave expires at the end of Feb 2006. ie next month!

We want to get married so that she can stay here. Can anybody offer my advice on how to go about this.

I tried to give notice at my local registry office today and was informed that we needed a certificate of approval. what is this?

Would it be easier to just fly to Las Vegas, say and do it over there. If so what are the potential problems with this.
We have been together for almost two years and living together for almost as long. We just want to be together but are really unsure of what we need to do to achieve this and require some straightforward directions.

    many thanks,

    Nath.
