Hi, I'm English and my girlfriend is Korean and I want to know if she comes to the the uk and we marry can she have all uk rights straight away and pay uk citizen fees if she becomes a student or is there a wait-also can she start work straight way aswel and do any work.If my girlfriend comes to the UK on a student visa and then we marry are the fees changed so she doesn't have to pay non uk citizen fees or would there be a long wait that by the time we are married she has finished he studies.

rights for non internationals once marrying uk citizen

Hi, sorry I didn't make myself clear last time I wrote about me and my Korean girlfrind getting married- I'll try to explain but I have so may questions I don't know where to start. We want to marry and my girlfriend wants to go to college but we don't want to marry straight away so I want to know if she comes on a student visa she will have to pay non uk fees for her studies but if we get married say a few months after she has arrived will her fees change to uk citizen? or because she came as a student will she have to finish of her studies paying non international fees even though we have got married and her status has changed. Also How long does it take to apply and to get married. The reason I want to wait to marry is because I want to save a bit more money so we can have a better wedding and I want to ask my girlfreind to marry me properly once she is in the country. I would appreciate any advice you could give.

To pay UK citizen fees you must be a UK or EU citizen and be a ordinary resident in UK or the UE for the last 3 years, otherwise you must pay full international fees.
