I am a non-eu citizen and live in UK. I would like to stay here to work and live. If I get married to a EU citizen (not British) will I be able to stay here without visa requirement. Will I be a eu passport holder?

It's not that easy to get a passport from an EU country, or any country for that matter. You have to satisfy residency requirements anywhere between 2-5 years, and in this 2-5 years, you should be working, and in the country where you are trying to claim the passport. Remember, a passport is a NAtional ID in the country from which it was issued, therefore for you to be given one, you should be considered a permanent resident at least, or a citizen of that country.

    Hello,

You will still need a visa to be allowed to stay in the UK. Even if you would be married to a British citizen you need a visa.
You will have to apply for a spouse visa :
    http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/servlet/Front ... 8721067257

This will give you the right to work and live in the UK for 2 years and you will need to apply for indefinate leave to remain after the first 2 years but you still need to be married and living with your wife/husband.
Your partner will need to prove that she/he can support you.

And after 3 year of living in the UK you can apply for citizenship (to get a British passport).

    I hope this helps !!

    Joanne
