✎ EN Moving to Barcelona in December

    Hola! I am planning on a life-changing move to Barcelona in the end of December. I am currently living in NYC where I just moved from San Francisco, CA. I have been planning on my move to Spain for over a year and am very excited. I am just now researching for my move and need all the help I can get. I will need an apartment and a job, and would prefer to set up both of these things before I move. I am 26 and a California-certified massage therapist. I would love to do this as well as teach English to children or adults or live/work as a nanny. I am also interested in yoga teachers training programs with a potential live/work situation. I would love to live by myself, but would be happy to share space with others of a mutual mind. I speak very little Spanish, but am looking forward to learning. I also need to know more concrete information about if it's okay to live without a visa, how hard is it to get one, and can I rent an apartment without one? I am on a very tight budget, and so need to make the most economical decisions. I would appreciate any suggestions or connections. Thanks! Peace. Kate

    hi katie! so, are you now in barcelona? did everything work out with the move? i am planning to move from san francisco to barcelona in the middle of march, and am in the same place as you were when you wrote your posting. i'm trying to find an apartment before i get out there, and was wodering if you could point me in the right direction for that (is there a spanish equivalent of creaigslist :)?). my ideal job in barcelona would be working for a record company. i've sent out a few resumes, but haven't gotten any replies...kinda discouraging, but i'm still excited about the move. barcelona is one of my favorite cities in the world. anyway, please let me know if you can help!

    Hi Kate.

    I am currently on my way to Barcelona with my boyfriend and I have recently completed one year in yoga teacher training in Portugal, Lisbon where I have taught english for 2 years. I am also looking for accomodation, work and a good yoga school to continue trainng and possibly will be starting my own classes if you would like to come along in October?

    Anyway, I haven't used this type of chatting over the internet so I hope it works and I can get in touch with you at some point in our new home!!

    hey, hope that you have had a safe journey to barcelona...
    i´ve been really enjoying the heat and energy of the city this summer, and have also been able to take some excursions outside of the city which gives a nice break. i´m anxious to hear about lisban.
    i am very interested in talking with you about yoga. unfortunately, because of money constraints, i haven´t been attending any classes. i´m not good about having a personal regime, and i jsut really like the instruction and group dynamic. maybe it would be possible for me to assist and/or train with you in the fall. i would really like to be back in a classroom setting and would love to learn some of the ropes of teaching. i am sure that i want to teach in the future, but can´t go to school at the moment.
