Just want to say what a great site this is, everyone is so helpful! I'm an American currently in London on a tourist visa. My English boyfriend and I want to get married. Do I have to return to the States and apply for a fiance visa before the registrar can give us a marriage license or can we go ahead and get married and then just have me go back to the States to apply for my spousal visa?

Also, if I get a fiance visa first, what happens after we get married in the UK? Do I automatically have rights to work or do I have to go through another round of applications?
