Hello!


Well, I have a question regarding an immigration visa for my Brazillian fiance...

I am american currently living in São Paulo Brazil for almost two years with my brazillian fiance. We are going to get married in the next couple weeks and then immediately enter into the immigration visa process (k-3 visa) for entering into the US in order for him to work and study right away. My questions center on the financial form, or the affidavit of support I believe it's called. I have been reading that one of the requirements for the visa is that the "sponsor" ( I, the american spouse) must complete a form declaring that my immigrant husband will not become a public charge, that I have means to sustain him. Well, at the moment, I do not have any means because I am a student and am supported in my studies by my father. In this situation, I have read that a parent of mine can fill out the affidavit in support of him.

My fiance has an excellent salary here in Brazil, has been to the US to give a presentation at a computer technology conference, and has an impeccable work resume. Currently he is working for an American company here in Brazil, and is trying to see if they will hire him in the US.
If they do, then I believe I will not have to be his "sponsor", as his company will vouch for him financially.

However, if he is not hired, (knowing that he can easily get a job once in the US) we really don't want to get my parents involved.
My question is:
Is there a way that we don't need to have the affidavit in this situation?

Yes, it looks like I am going to have to have a co sponsor for the affidavit...

It looks like my fiance will just have to accept that!
