Sam and i have been friends for about 4 years now and about a year an a half ago we got serious. he saved up money an came over here from New Zealand and while here he proposed. we couldnt get married on his visitors visa so he had to go back after the 3 months. now we are trying for the K1 visa. i have all the signed papers from both him and I and am ready to send them in but today he told me that there is an easier way. his aunt got citizenship by marrying an american but it took 8 months for her K1 visa and when she went to pick it up they told her there was an easier way. she said that if i got to New Zealand and get married it would be alot quicker and easier than going through the K1 visa. i haven't found much on the internet about it and so far haven't talked to anyone. my financial situation and other things here aren't the best right now for me to travel but i can make exceptions. if anyone has anymore information i would really appreciate it. i want to do this all legal, thats why im asking :) thank you.

I have noticed that everywhere they want all this proof of income. does how much you make really have alot to do with whether your fiance will get his visa or not?

    Hello,

I got a J2 visa ( my husband got the J1) and when I was ready to ask an autorization for work they required to provide with financial document ( banks, rent, invoice of electricity, ....) just to be sure that I was not seeking a job to support my husband.
Then I sent everything and 2 or 3 months after I got my authorization card.

I think that if they ask you any proof , you should give to them.

what i'm saying is I don't make a whole lot but when he gets here we want to start a whole new life. he has job offerings over here already. i'm just wondering if they're going to look at my income and say I cannot support him.

Hey, i'm Kittie's Fiance, I have a few questions. Ok, if we got married in my home country: New Zealand. Would that qualify me to come to the USA and stay with my Fiancee until the V visa petition came through? OR would I have to apply first then at a certain stage i'm allowed to come and wait?

I want to be with Jessica as soon as possible, being apart just feels awful.
6 months or more just seems like forever at the moment.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hello,

There is a thing that I don't understand. You are talking about a visa K.

One of you has to be a US citizen for that. The visa K is for a person who wants to marry an US citizen only.

If you are not citizen both of you and would like to live in the USA, one of you has to apply for a visa. If you want to be together, you have to be married first. A fiance can not follow!

    Hi,

    Then you have two choice:

1 * To do the marriage in the US
2* or in the New zealand

For the option 1, you have to apply for a Visa K for your futur-wife. Once she is in the US, you have 90 days to be married. After You ask for her a green card.

Unfortunatly, I don't know the rules in the new Zealand if you want to marry there.

The best is to do all the process legally even if it take 1 or 10 months. You know the US immigration, it is not the easiest one!
