    Hi!
I'm a U.S. citizen working in Geneva. My Danish boyfriend works in the U.K. My question is somewhat frivolous but even the consulate doesn't know the answer. If we get married and I move to the U.K., am I entitled to home fees for university or do I still pay the International fees in the first 3 years that I am residing there?
I've tried getting in touch with UKCOSA, but haven't been able to get through on their phone lines.
Many thanks for the answer to this question, especially if you can cite actual government sources for it.
    TIA,
    Kate

I think that since you will be resident in this country you will be able to pay the home students fees but you better double check wiht them.

Since you will be living in the UK under EU Laws you will be entitled to pay Home/EU Fees.

My experience is that UK universities each decide for themselves whether you are eligible to pay non-overseas fees or not, and what they look at is whether you have been a resident of the UK or other EU country for the previous three years for reasons other than attending education. They are very keen to find you not eligible, because they are desperate for the cash that overseas fee payers provide. In my case, I came to the UK with my spouse who is an EU citizen, and I had to pay overseas fees. If you have been living in Geneva for three years or more, and they include Switzerland as a "non-overseas" country even though it is not part of the EU, then you should be able to pay non-overseas fees.

    hello,

International fees applies for every country outside the Uk.

You will have to pay international fees for the first 3 years.
They will make you pay even if you start a course and you only need a couple of months before you have been here 3 years...you will still pay the full price.

I am married to a UK citizen and I had to pay International fees (for the first 3 years and they ask for you passport to see if this is true) even though I have an indefinate leave to remain.

    I hope this helps

    Joanne
