I have just created a Yahoo discussion group called Expats in Switzerland. Often I receive requests from people to join two other groups I moderate (Expat in Zurich and Expat Moms in Switzerland) but they don't meet the membership requirements:( I refer people to other groups where appropriate, so this group is sort of a "catch all" group for expats living in or moving to Switzerland. Interested Swiss are more than welcome as well:)

Please feel free to pass this message on to anyone who you think might be interested in such a group!

    Dear Carmen

I was just browsing through the web and saw your email. I have been living abroad for the past 8 years. Born in Sweden, raised in Switzerland and travelling all over the world with 2 children I feel very much like an expat in my own country. We came back from South Africa yesterday after 3 years and now we are trying to settle in Winterthur, close to Zurich.
I have a question to you; do you know of any english courses for english speaking children in Zurich or Winterthur? My kids will enter a Swiss school for the first time and I fear they will forget their English very fast if they don't use it. Could you help?

    Susan-

How old are your kids? WHat language do you speak with them? My older son is in 2nd grade at our local Swiss german school but we speak English at home.

I would suggest that you join the Yahoo group that I moderate called

    Expat-Moms-in-Switzerland

We have other Swiss moms there too, but the discussion language is in English. More than 80 of us live in the Zurich area so you are bound to get some good info there. Plus you could meet up with other ENglish speaking families in your area.

If you want, you come come to the Badi on Thursday morning in Kuesnacht on the Zurichsee and meet some of us in person.

Please feel free to contact me personally... crenhov4@bluewin.ch

Shoppers needed in Switzerland for quality control

    Hello,

    Maybe you can help us...

We, Bare Associates International (www.baiservices.com), are an international mystery shopping company with offices in the US and in Belgium, and we are working on a new international project. For this project we need people in Switzerland (Eyholz and Schafisheim) who are willing to do an assignment for us as a mystery shopper.

What is Mystery Shopping? Mystery Shoppers are people who visit various shops (clothing, restaurants, hotels and etc.) acting as potential customers. The only difference between a real customer and a Mystery Shopper is that a Mystery Shopper gets an opportunity to comment the service he/she has received and in this way to improve the customer service. Also mystery Shoppers are paid for shopping!

This assignment is an evaluation for Hewlett Packard. The shop fee is 20 euros. The shopper needs to visit a multimediastore and report afterwards on line, in English. This assignment has to be completed as soon as possible.

Please contact me if you're interested, if you know someone who might be interested (friends, family, colleagues, students, expats) in doing an assignment for our company, or if you'd like to receive additional information.

You can contact me by writing an email to eschruns@baiservices.com.

    Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Ellen Schruns
