I am in the middle of my polish citizenship application. The dept in warsaw wants an official letter from the british army stating that my father did not serve in the army before 1951. I have tried several avenues but no one seems be able to help me. If i do not produce this letter they will not accept my application. My father went to the uk after the second world war as an orphan and went to lilford technical school. After working for a short while he left for south africa and naturalised as a south african. He never served in the british (too young) army or south african army. I have no idea who to contact in the uk - very difficult sitting on the other side of the world. The polish lawyer i am dealing with could also not refer me to any one in the uk to assist with this. Any one else with a similar problem?
