Does anyone know what the tax rates for retirees are in Ireland? All income is Dutch, living in Ireland for some years now. It might be more fair to pay tax in Ireland instead of the Netherlands.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi Cyril, I know about the tax rates when you’re working. I’m just looking for the rates when you’re retired and moved to Ireland. There’s no Irish income. Just the Dutch pension. Would you know where to find the answer? Thanks!

    Hi @teadrip
In general, in most countries, you are taxed on your full income in a similar way whether you are working or are a pensioner.
That is actually what is confirmed on the official site from the Republic of Ireland, where it says:
For more information, you should refer to the official site on Taxation of pensions
There is a section explaining tax for people over 65. In general it says that is the same general tax rules as everyone else but they do get tax exemption limits below which they pay no tax and some extra tax credits. You will fin more on: Older people's tax credits and reliefs

In general, you will find plenty of information about retiring in Ireland on the official portal: www.citizensinformation.ie

Feel free to come back for more information and share your experience.
