    Hello,

I'm planning to go to Australia next year an wondered whether there are any terrestic tv-services? Does is work just to bring your notebook with your TV-tuner and an antenne? Or will you just see nothing on the screnn?

    Thanks and best regards,
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
The difference is the standard for the tunner. They use PAL I in England for example while they use PAL B/G in Australia.
So if you've got a TV card or an external plug for your notebook, you have to check that it's compatible with the Australian standard. Sometime it's not: for example I got a WinTV-USB that works for France, but unfortunatly not in the UK where they provide a specific model (they've got one for North and South America - NTCS, Continental Europe - Pal B/G and United Kingdom - Pal I).

If your card say something like multistandard PAL B/G/I, it will work fine.
