This thread is for old codgers who are past their travelling days but haven't forgotten them. It's several decades now since my own backpacking days (we weren't even called "backpackers", back then!), and I would like to hear from other oldies (male or female) who did the same kind of things as my wife and I did, at the same kind of time - 1960s and '70s, say. On my personal blog I have posted more than a dozen reminiscences (mixed in with other topics), and I would very much like to read others' similar stories, from anywhere in the world.

This is an appropriate place to host our stories, either directly (episodes posted on this thread) or via our websites for those of us who have them. Is anybody interested enough to do this?
