It can be difficult to find the best place to live in a new city. This is even more difficult for an expat who is not familiar with the country and culture. So where is the best place to live in Iran?

What do you look for in a neighborhood? What do different neighborhoods offer? What area would you recommend based on:
    - Schools
    - Transportation
    - Access to shops and groceries
    - Nightlife and Activities

Where do you live? What do you like about it? Are there any dangerous areas? Are some areas more affordable?

Thank you in advance for your contribution. This is a very common question for expats moving to Iran and your help is much appreciated.

Based on statistics from UNESCO , the best city in Iran to live in , is Tabriz ( 4th big city of Iran ) .
But as my point of view , I rather live in Kish Island , Tehran , Mashhad , Shiraz.

Hi fuladkar and many thanks for sharing your experience.
Is it because you prefer big cities where you've got more activities and possibilities to meet people? It always depends on the style of life, family or not etc to choose a place I guess...

See you soon on the forum

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences.

I think the best area to live Iran depends on purpose of life, and because that the most of expat come to Iran for business or work in the embassy and interstate communications, the best city for this purpose is the capital certainly, Tehran.

But choosing the right place to live in Tehran is also one of the difficult choices that depends on many factors. the most important factor is area of work.
and another factor that make everything more difficult is that in Iran there is no furnished accommodation usually for themselves, the Iranian people usually rent unfurnished accommodations. but there is some cases only for expat. so finding a suitable accommodation is so difficult in this situation.

Anyway I know the source of all furnished accommodation(flat/apartment/houses/...) in Tehran which work in expat services field in Tehran. the name of this company is Iran-Rental and it can help you so much.

the web page for helping you is Iran-rental.com

and even i can introduce more things that you need to know by my experiences.
