    Hi,
My boyfriend and I are moving to London in August and I will be working in Islington. What is a good place to live around there? I am not opposed to living in Islington itself but I've heard conflicting things about how safe it is. We are not huge partiers (despite being in our late 20s) and are hoping to get a 1 bedroom around 900£. Here is a list, in order of importance, of what we are looking for:

    - safe
    - close to Islington
    - close to markets (preferably fresh fruit stands, etc.)
    - close to a good tube station
    - close to super markets
    - close to parks and green spaces
    - close to nice pubs/restaurants
    - close to cultural centers (theatre, music, etc.)
    - close to good bars

Is this even feasible for 900£?

    Thanks for any help.

Islington/Angel is a trendy place. Transport not too bad, a lot of places to go out). And a bit further, near Shoreditch, is much cheaper.

    Hi,

Well In my opinion you should not look for near place of Islington because Islington itself is the good place to live in. It has great shops, bars, multicultural cafes and have some great views as well. . This part of London have a nice cafe culture too. Though have you considered that if you live a little out of central London you could get a better deal for your money.I think you should register with the estate agency, they show you a list of flats and locations, you then choose a few and visit all whether it could be Islington or nearby it as well. You can read a good article at http://www.plazaestates.co.uk/propertie ... or-tenants. I hope it would help you in making right decision.

well I live in Islington, just outside north London and it's ok, nothing bad, worst is north west (Barnet borough) along with hackney.

You are not very far from Angel and Shoreditch (which is in Hackney but becoming more and more popular). Quite central London actually, pretty good location ;-)

Highbury is about as close to the City as you can get without having to live in a flat, which is why bankers and lawyers wanting an elegant house and a quick commute are still queuing up to buy.
