I am an American and would like to live / work in Paris. If I PACS a french citizen, does this allow me to get papers to work legally in France? If it does I have so many questions:

-does the right to work apply even if it is a heterosexual union?

    - do the authorities check that you are actually living together with middle of the night visits (as I have heard they do with marriage)?

-once you are officially PACS'd (correct teminology?), what are the procedures one has to go through in order to be able to legally work?

I greatly appreciate any relevant information. I have been unable to find answers on the internet and am limited by the fact that I only speak English (I plan to remedy that in France, though!).
