✎ EN Do I need a Visa to Ireland (married to an EU citiz. + EEA)?

Goody day

To whom it may concern... I will like to know if I needed a Visa to Ireland, Dublin as I'm married to an EU national, with me having my 5 years residence of EEA Family member, why I'm asking this is that actually I am traveling to Belfast, Northern Ireland but there is no direct flight except if I traveled through dublin which is more easier for me to get into Belfast. So I need an answer if I needed a visa to pass through the airport of dublin or my EEA family residence card is enough proof? to use also I know I needed an EEA family permit from the UK embassy to be in Belfast.. I will really appreciate any response from anyone who is willing to help out on what I should do.

If you have a EEA card and also married to a EU citizen you don't need a visa to go to Ireland.
You can check the rules on the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service website
The S.I. No. 345 of 2011. Immigration Act 2004 (Visas) (No. 2) Order 2011 document says (page 4):

3. It is hereby declared that the following classes of non-nationals are specified
as classes the members of which are not required to be in possession of a
valid Irish visa when landing in the State:
(a) nationals of a state or territorial entity specified in Schedule 1;
(b) non-nationals who are holders of-
(i) a valid Convention travel document issued by Belgium, Czech
Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein,
Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland,
Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden or Switzerland
and where the intended purpose of the travel to the State
by the holder of such a travel document is solely for a visit of up
to a maximum period of 3 months,
(ii) a valid permanent residence card, or
(iii) a valid residence card;
(c) non-nationals who are family members of a Union citizen and holders
of a document called “Residence card of a family member of a Union
citizen”, as referred to in Article 10 of the Directive of 2004;

Please be advised that non-nationals who are family members of a European Union citizen and holders of a document called "Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen" as referred to in Articles 5 (2) and 10 (1) of Directive 2004/38/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004, are not subject to an Irish visa requirement.
