Hello, I hope someone can help me. I am a US student in Spain with an NIF for students and I will have been in Spain for two years by September of 2005. I would like to know if anyone out there knows about what steps I should take to apply for obtaining a regular residency NIF card here? I know that there have been 2 immigration law changes in the 2 years that I've been here. Can a job offer help you get a residency permit now? That was changed right? It seems like you cannot get legal work easily at all now without EU/Spanish citizenship. So I'm guessing that the only way is to find a place that is willing to go through all the bureaucratic steps, right? ANd that this is the only way that a job can help you get residency. Also, can a student NIF for 2 years help you in any way through the bureaucratic hurdles (for a US citizen) and if so, how?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated,

    Tito
