Hi All,

I will be getting married in South Africa (I'm British, fiancee is South African) this November. My question is basically, how long do you think it will take to get our visa processed (spouse visa, UK settlement). I have to travel back soon after our wedding and hope that my fiancee can fly back asap. Can we only apply after the wedding?

It should be a straightforward process. I'm a fully British Citizen, we can prove we've been together for years, I earn a half decent wage, and have proof of adequate accommodation etc.

P.S. do I really need to pay a notary public 100 pounds to get him/her to sign a photocopy of my passport?!
