Scottish people in Marseille ?

Postby iizzy » Fri Mar 21, 2008 2:04 pm

Hi, I'm izzy I'm French and my partner Michael is Scottish. We live in Marseille, but it seems to be very difficult to meet Scottish people here !

So if you are Scotish, please contact us ! and if you have information about Scottish people in Marseille (their meeting points, their favourite pubs and so on) please let us know !

Hi Izzy - I'm an Ecossaise living in Marseille. Nice to know there's another Scot around. Have you discovered the Marseille expat meet up? It's a really nice and fast growing group of people from all over the place who meet up about once a month - Here's the link- http://american.meetup.com/267/

Hopefully see you and Micheal there sometime.

Oh that's great, I never knew there were meet ups taking place in Marseille. I had tried to find that kind of events in August when Michael arrived but I had found nothing, of course, since it all staretd in October !

Yes I hope we can meet in one of those meet ups Mairi, we'll have to get organized though because you 're not quite right when you say "there's another Scot around" : there is another Scot and a half now! We've had a beautiful baby in November, his name is Edin, he's half French, half Scottish....and he has to go to bed early ! We'll have to find a good baby-sitter for the meet up nights then !

Thanks again for the link

Hi,
I'm considering a move to Grenoble from Scotland around February-March 2009 and was wondering if you knew of any Scottish or British communities there that I could get in touch with. Even if you guys are in touch with any nation wide communities. I'd really like to find out a bit more before I commit!!!
regards
Chris

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately Mairi is the only Scottish woman in France I know, but you should try and join the English speakers in France group. Maybe some of them live near Grenoble. I'm sure they would be happy to give you tips and any information you need before coming over.

Good luck
