My wife and I are moving to London from Windhoek, Namibia. We're arriving in a week's time!
My wife has full time employment in St Albans, and is required to have a car for work purposes.
I have an interview for an exciting position in Slough.

I am wondering if it is at all possible to find a place to live with a reasonable commute to both Slough and St Albans. The St Albans commute will often be by car, and the Slough commute will be by public transport.

Can anybody recommend any options that might work? Or any resources I could use to figure this out?

    Thanks!

Ideally I would have said Watford, as this is well connected to London and a big city.
The problem is that there is no easy connection between Watford and Slough (I don't know about buses). Each time you have to go back to Euston or Paddington

For trains you can check with: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

Therefore I would concentrate on finding an easy way to commute to Slough, while driving to St Albans. It is fairly easy using the M25 to go to St Albans from Slough, so you could be living in Slough.
Otherwise if you prefer to be closer to London, I would suggest to stay on the train line going to Slough and close to the M25 to go by car to St Albans (West Ealing and anything going West).

Best of luck for the interview and keep us informed on your process to expatriate.

There are many places in London to live in but you will better to find because no one knows what kind of place you want to live in and what environment you want.
