Hi people ;) I need your advice please.
I'm in a happy relationship with this guy for over 2 years now. We want to get married but it's not so easy cause he overstayed his visa and is now is in UK illegaly. I heard we don't need to go to Nigeria for marriage, we can do it in UK with immigration lawyer and then apply for EEA family permit for him. I'm a bit confused about all this. Is this possible in that way? And what documents do we need?
    Thank you for all advices

You do not need a certificate of Approval for him ( essentially a permission for him to marry you in the UK ) anymore as that has been abolished. However the registrar might well ask for his valid permission to reside in the UK in the absence of which they might refuse to get you married ( or even report him to the UKBA ).

Your safer alternative would be to try getting married in the Church of England. Any church ( preferbly a Parish church ) will be able to advise you on how to go about it.

By the way, it will be EEA2 that you will be applying for him not EEA Family Permit since he is already in the UK. If however you opt for getting married in Nigeria ( or Poland ), then he would need EEA Family Permit to join you in or travel with you to the UK.

    Powedzenia !

Thank you very much for your help!
So, I've been thinking about marriage in Church of England but I found some informations in internet that now it's not as easy as before. I mean, a lot of people was doing this just to get papers and now they changed something. Do you know something about it? Because no matter how much we love each other and how honest is our relationship, our marriage can look suspicious ;)

Go Poland or Nigeria...Marry there, come back on family permit ! As long as you have sufficient document proving your relationship , You'll be fine! Goodluck..
