    Hello,

I am hoping someone can provide help/advice on my particular situation, and work authorization in the Netherlands.

I am an Australia national living in France with my French wife. I have a carte de sejour (french residency and work authorization) in France, and have the possibility of a job offer in the Netherlands.

I am wondering if my work authorization in France provides me any rights to work in the Netherlands, or alternatively am I eligible to work in the Netherlands via my French spouse with going through the work permit/visa process?

I am also wondering if I do need to apply for a work permit (as I am beginning to suspect based on research) via my wife, what the procedure would be?

Thank you so much for your help in advance, immigration is never quite as easy as you would like!! :)

    Kind regards
    Hamish

If your wife would move to Holland and start exercising her treaty right, then you would be able to claim residency and work there. Otherwise you would need a separate work permit.

    Good luck

Hi thankyou for your reply, much appreciated!

That is the information that we had found but we weren't sure, so if we both move there (which is the plan) I would not need to apply for any residency or work permit....?

Hopefully it all works out because we would live to live there!

    Kind regards
    Hamish

    Hey HDWOO,

Although we're not in the immigration business (we rent out houses for expats), we do often get these kind of requests. Most of the time, the English website of the Dutch Immigration service has the answers. Browsing through the site, we came up with this press-release. We beleive it's right up your alley. Have a look, it might clear things up for you.
