I got my UK nationality through an Ancestral visa and lived in the UK for 12 years. I am wanting to return after living abroad for the last 5 years. My passport is valid until 2014. I am going to apply for a visa for my spouse and hope there will be no issue since I have been away for more than 2 years? Any information would be useful. Thanks.

Since you are a British citizen, there is no effect of your being away.
