Hi! I'm a Sri Lankan. My spouse is a Pakistani. Currently we are residing in Sri Lanka and both of us are working here. My spouse has a resident visa in Sri Lanka on marriage basis. Whenever there is a visa renewal, I also should travel along and apply for visa which is really hectic cos each time I have to apply leave from my work place. Can anyone of you tell me how to apply for a dual citizenship. Believe this will solve my issue.

Pakistan does allow dual citizenship and I believe so does Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan department of Immigration and Emigration is where you should be asking that question. Check out the link below. As far as I understand it says your spouse can apply for citizenship after one year of living in Sri Lanka. Sounds to good to be true though.

    Good luck !
