    Hello,
maybe this has already been answer somewhere but i can't find it...

I'm a French citizen and I'm living in UK, my boyfriend, soon husband, is not from the EU and is here as a student.
We are together since already 2 years not in the Uk but a little bit all over the world, we don't want to get separated as his studies come to an end. I know that with the family permit he can come in the UK and live but does he need to leave the UK and come back with the family permit visa? or is there a way that we do all that from here. We'll soon get married but the student visa will be almost at the end by then. I know that he has to apply for the EEA2 but between the marriage and the approval of the EEA 2, which are is rights here? and how to get it without having to be separated???
    Thank you very much!

Well it is me replying to myself, but you never know maybe someone will ask themselves the same question... (good thing I didn't wait for a reply here to make the procedures...).
So he didn't need to leave the UK, we applied for a marriage certificate (which is a permission to get married) but I believe this is not something we can do no more in the UK, I think the rule changed and students cannot get married no more... but at that time it was still possible and we got married in July 2008. Since then we applied for EEA2, it took almost a whole year to get back to US but eventually it did (although they lost my passport on the way... but at least my husband has his residency until 2014) then we did a family permit for his son who joined us and applied also for EEA2 and it get back to us in less than 6 months.
So all and all, all is good...
