My fiance is an English citizen, currently in his second year of university. I've been looking everywhere for numbers for fiance applications.

    1. How much money does he need to make, roughly? I've heard 100 pounds per week, I've heard 950 pounds per month, no one seems to know anything. Would a part time job be sufficient?

    2. Since he has government grants for school, does this mean we can't be married until he graduates regardless of how much money he makes at a job? Do school grants count as recourse to public funds?

    3. Do I need to have a certain amount of money in my bank account, such as enough for a flight back to the US should something happen?

    4. Does he have to be employed for a certain amount of time? I've heard 3 months, I've heard 6 months.

I'm really losing my mind here, everyone. He graduates summer 2012. Does this mean we have to wait until he's had a job for 6 months, after he's graduated and therefore not receiving grants for that (if that even counts as public funds), to even apply? We're not in a super rush but god, it's so hard. And there's so much waiting. Love alone won't get us anywhere with the government. Help?

First question, how old are you both ? you both need to be 21 ( or getting 21 in the next six months ) before you could apply.
