I am a South African married to a Portuguese Citizen living in London. I was given a Family permit visa which expires on the 17th of November 2010. Also note I do have a NIN no. - About 2 weeks ago I had applied for a EEA2 Resident Card and have since gotten calls for employment. Is it legal for me to work? Can the employment company deny me the position due to my circumstance?? Please help....

Thank you for your reply. I got hold of the UKBA and they informed me of the same. It can take up to ten days to be delivered, but its on the way. In the in term they gave me a ref. number and a number for Employers to contact to verify my application(.Tel 03001234699) . Then you are able to be employed whilst your application is in progress. What a relief, thought I had to wait for 6 months before I could get a position.
