    Hi,

my wife's EEA FP expired last December and we are currently waiting for her EEA2 application to be approved.
My wife was lucky enough to find a job and they are currently transferring her salary into my account. That's ok for the time being, but not an ideal solution. So we went to the bank and applied for a joint bank account. They said that they can open it but need proof that my wife has the right to stay in the UK. The marriage certificate it not sufficient, apparently. Does anyone have an idea what kind of document I could give them that clearly states my wife's right to live and work in the UK? I printed something off of the UK Home Office website, but I was wondering if any of you has a better idea.

    Thanks,

    Dan

Did your wife recieve the letter ( called Certificate of Application ) from Home Office confirming that her EEA2 application has been recieved ? if yes, have a look and it should mentioned that she is legally resident in the UK as long as her application is being processed.

You can produce that letter as proof of her legal stay in the UK. You will most probably have to argue about it since I wouldn't expect them to be so knowledgeable as to accept it. Besides, as per my experience, it would also depend on which bank branch you go into actually i.e. mood of the person !

    Good luck
