    i am a uk citizen, married to a non eea citizen (iran). We met whilst both students (of 4 years) in india and married there. My parents are fiscale residents in france since the last 10 years. Does my husband need a visa for europe? If so what type is the best to apply for and does he have to pay for that?
    We are currently applying for a uk settlement visa for him. Will the outcome of that make any difference t his rights to live and work in other eea countries?

    I look forward to some experienced answers as i am drowning slowly in a sea of opinions and bureaucracy right now!!!

    Yes he does need a visa for entering any country in Europe. That depends on the individual country that he wishes to enter but a Schengen visa would be the best choice.

    UK settlement visa is valid only for UK, no where else. He would still need visa for all other EEA countries just like he does now. Just because he is married to you and has a UK settlement visa doesn't change anything in terms of entering/working in other EEA countries.

    Do you have by any chance French citizenship ? that could make things a lot easier.
