    Hi,

We have recently applied for the EEA2 Residence card and have just received our acknowledgement letter. We sent our passports with the application and assumed (stupidly) that they would send our passports back promptly.

    Obviously this isn't the case.

So to get our passports back (Sponsor & applicant), we intend to write a letter. What reasons should we give? Do we need a reason?

We need them back for both of us to travel seperately at different times over the next 5 months. She to see her family, and me to attend a wedding. Due to work commitments we both will not attend both trips.

We do intend to send our passports back to the home office once we have finished these trips.

    Thanks

    EEA2 application comfirmation letter

    Hi there,

How long does it take for Home Office to issue an acknowledgement letter for receipt of my documents.
I sent my documents about threes weeks today and the home office has not written anything to me,WHAT SHOULD I DO?
My EEA permit runs out by end of May and i am to travel between mid June and July, What should i do if they dont respond to me before then and if i have to travel urgently, will they give me a short entry clearance since the other one got expired with them?
My wife is German and i am a non EEA member with a German residence permit,we did not know that it was advantageous to aply for EEA1for her but our marriage certificate and her passport is in my application pack at Croydon.
We have been to together for 6yrs and married for a little more than 3yrs, we have been visiting the UK many times from Germany and at the beginining of this year we moved in and wanted to stay and look for work, so had to change my EEA permit into residency card (EEA2).

Please can someone analyse my case and propose some possible scenarios and if i have to tarvel urgently between mid June and July, what should i do?.

    Thnx
    Jticha

They should respond to you by then. It took a little over 4 weeks for me to receive my acknowledgement letter.

Have you also sent your passport to them?

We sent our passports to them, and have recently requested the passports to be returned.
