    Hi

My American fiance and I are in the process of organising a fiance visa application for him to come to the UK to live with me (I'm a British citizen).

There are just a couple of things that we're not sure about still...

    1) Can I send a certified copy of my passport to the US or does it have to be the real thing? I'm aware that my fiance will have to send his real passport.

    2) My fiance has got onto a course at Cambridge to study for a PGCE in September, he's in the process of organising funding in the States. Should we declare this and might this affect his application?

    Thanks for your help

As far as I'm aware (my fiance and I are going through this as well, only the other way around) they want your exact passport. No copies. Because they're wanting valid identifcation of yourself.

and for your second question, I don't think I can help you.
