    Hi Guys

    I have applied my EEA2 application and now in the need to travel back to home(Australia) for work reasons. I only got the acknowledgement letter from Homeoffice.

    Questions

    1) Can I ask for my passport to be returned, so that I can go home?

    2)What happens if I stay in Australia after that for some months, will they continuously process my application and request my passport when they need it, from overseas?

    Any help much appreciated

    Yes, you can travel, as long as your main residence is in the UK. So any absence up to 3 months is no problem. If you stay longer, this may be interpreted as a permanent move, and you may have to start all over again.

    They will continue "processing" your application, in the sense that it sits through the queue unaffected. However, I doubt that they will contact an address outside of the UK. Is your EEA partner staying in the UK?
