✎ EN Applying for residency in the UK with spouse visa?

    Can someone please tell me if my husband has the 2 year spouse visa for the UK can he apply for residency immediately??

    Also with the residency can he work all over the EU with no problem?

    I don't understand what do you mean by 'residency' because if your husband is ( or is going to start ) living in UK on a spouse visa, he is already ( or will be ) a resident. However if you mean Permanent Residence then the answer to your question is no. He has to live in UK for at least three years to be entitled for Permanent Residence.

    No, even though Permanent Residence allows entry to some EU countries without any visa for a short stay, he will not be able to work there.
