Hi all,

My Fiance (american) applied online on Monday for the UK fiance visa, and fedexed all the relevant documents to the LA embassy on tuesday. Yesterday she received an email saying that they need to see my passport to process the application. The thing is, is that it was sent with all the other documents and my Fiance is 100% sure it was in with her passport when it was sent. So it looks as though it has been "mislaid" somewhere at the LA embassy. She tried calling them yesterday but they were closed so we are waiting to hear back from them. Her flight here is on the 29th so just over 2 weeks away. I have been told by the passport office here that they cannot issue a replacement for a lost passport using the same day service so I would have to make an appointment for maybe next week/probably the week after then it would take a week to get to me. Obviously thats too long for me to get that, fedex it to her in San Diego and for her to send it up to LA.
I know it seems like a lost cause but does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do?

About the above, thankfully my fiance got an email from the LA embassy this morning saying that the did in fact have my passport, they had mislayed it (somehow!) and that the fiance visa was approved and was to be sent back by overnight UPS. Talk about a stressful day! At least it is all sorted now. Thats a quick turn around too, they received the docs on wednesday and the visa was approved on friday. Not bad! Now we just need to make sure that the dogs paperwork is all filled out correctly.
